Do we even need to learn languages anymore?

 

Today we talk with Marie Luise about translating. For millennia we have been trying to communicate as humans and again and again people have tried to make it easier by making the hurdles of communication smaller through translators, for example.

Now there is the development towards artificial intelligences and non-human translation. This naturally raises the question: should we still learn languages? How important is the profession of a translator and what makes it possible to reproduce the content of texts in other languages really well?
